Medical Camp Service
The largest contribution of Mid-Town is in the area of medical service. Almost every year multi-diagnostic camps are held at various locations in and around Mumbai. The ‘Balwadi’ is now full operational a large number of men and women have now signed up for “Adult Literacy’ classes, which will be taught in the evenings at the same venues.
BAL ASHA GHAR – “A Home of Hope”
The Club has set up a pioneering project near Lonavla, mainly for distressed children of commercial sex workers between 4 and 11 years of age. Our aim is to provide a real ‘home’ environment of loving and caring; education & counseling; vocational training and guidance. We have extended the housing and other facilities to accommodate more children.
Mobility Aids & Corrective Surgeries
The objective of the project is to provide ‘Mobility Aids’ ( calipers, braces, orthopedic shoes, crutches, Jaipur Foot, tri-wheelers, wheelchairs, etc. ) to disabled persons who are residing in rural areas and belong to the poorest segment of society; also to undertake ‘Polio-corrective surgery’ for those requiring it. We have also provided a Computer Training Center at NASEOH, Chembur.
