Dear Rotarian friends,
Rotary’s international calendar this month has been devoted to literacy. This is particularly important for us, as Rotarians in India have been dedicating themselves to promoting literacy throughout the country for many years. In February, the Second Rotary India Literacy Summit was held in Pune with representation from all Indian districts.
The two day summit featured many well-known speakers who are advocates of literacy. There were also many international Rotary leaders present including RIPE, Ravi Ravindran and Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair, John Kenny. Our Club was represented by our newly elected honorary member, Dr. Ajay Bhatnagar. This pan-India project requires the support of all Rotarians and as Club President I urge you to come forward with your contributions.
