Mid Town Musings: October 2016

Celebrate the centennial on 20th November
In 2016-17, our Rotary Foundation turns 100. That’s a century of Rotary members changing lives and improving communities all over the world. And that’s definitely something worth celebrating.
The Districts Centennial celebration will be held at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse on 20th November, 2016. Starting at 11.00 am onwards, the racecourse will come alive with races which are dedicated to Rotary causes as well as other attractions. It promises to be a well-planned outing for all with family and friends.
Rotarians will be treated to a special Elektrosufi performance by DJ Arkane and Shahid Mallya of Ek Kudi (Udta Punjab) and Rabba Mein Toh Margaya Oye (Mausam) fame, a children’s fashion show, Mrs. Rotary Queen beauty pageant as well as a raffle.
The event will also encompass a flea market with stalls showcasing apparel, accessories, paintings, books, household items, arts and crafts and lots more. There will also be a dedicated zone for children. Members can savour gourmet delights as well as sip on a variety of liquors.
Members are requested to come in large numbers with family and friends. Please register in advance.
There is a registration fee of `500/- per adult/child which permits entry and allows access to the entertainment, the competitions, the stalls, etc. Food, drinks, betting and purchases from stalls will be additional expenses.
I request you to please enroll (along with family and friends) and send in your money / cheque to Allan / Parab of our Rotary office. All names and monies should be received by the Rotary office latest by Thursday, 17th November 2016.
I look forward to having all of you participate together at this unique event on Sunday, 20th November 2016.

– President Rtn Sucharita Hegde
